My First Serious Print
A functional phone stand designed to keep my desk tidy — my first project worth documenting.
Gallery
This is my first project worth writing up — a phone stand that keeps my desk organized and routes my charging cable cleanly.
Why This Model?
I had a growing collection of phone stands, none of which fit my desk setup. This model from DesignStudio3D had everything I wanted: a weighted base, a cable routing slot, and a clean minimalist look.
Print Notes
The print went smoothly at stock settings. The cable slot is tight — if you want to fit a thicker cable, I’d recommend scaling the X axis to about 105%.
What I’d Do Differently
The matte black PLA hides layer lines beautifully but shows fingerprints. Next time I’d try a silk filament for the aesthetic parts and keep matte for the structural pieces.
